HTS tour guide will pick you up at your hotel in old quarter, then a local driver welcome you to his cyclo “Rickshaw”, for a ride, you will pass under the Eiffel Bridge, built in 1902, designed by the French architect Gustave Eiffel, with a 2.5 km span. Today, it is a most special bridge with unique architecture, a living historical relic with cultural value, in comparison with five newer bridges crossing the Red River.
Your tour guide will teach you some basic local language in 30 minutes to help you understand shopping skills, then you will know how to spend our currency “VND” to buy some favorite food from friendly sellers. You then take bicycles to ride around Hoan Kiem Lake by yourself , then onto to the traditional market.
It is interesting to walk around the market to see a variety of things such as: herbs, spices, vegetables, meats, fishes, and fruits which are so fresh. All things bring you very close to the simple life (herbs and spices are a very important part of authentic Vietnamese food).
You will have a fun time to practicing your oral communication and use of body language with locals. Do not forget to take some photos with them.
After your shopping, you come back our cooking class to prepare and cook by yourself, under the instruction of your tour guide from the beginning to the end; learning how to marinate and add spices will be the most crucial lesson. You will also enjoy decorating dishes with carrot flowers, lemon grass stems, banana leaves and curved chili.The authentic magical dipping sauce, mixed from fish sauce, water, sugar, lime, chili, garlic and herbs is very easy to make.
At mid-day enjoy your meal with local hosts who introduce the history, culture and meanings of the typical dishes, you also have an ideal dinning place, with wonderful views of the Red River and Eiffel bridge,
Around 1pm, our tour guide will transfer you back to your hotel and give you a secret recipe if you want, see you again!
