Overview

Our tour allows golf enthusiasts to enjoy the game on three of the best golf courses in the north of the country, travelling by private a/c vehicle. Between games take in the sites of Hanoi city, enjoy a cruise on Halong Bay and visit several handy-craft villages. A great way to visit sites, enjoy shopping and to indulge in your passion of playing golf.

Day 1: Arrive Ha Noi

On arrival in Ha Noi for our Hanoi Golf Vacation 9 days 8 nights tour, you are met by our tour guide and transferred to your hotel to check in and relax. In the evening, you enjoy a water puppet show, a Vietnamese traditional art form, dating from the 11th century, and after have a special welcome dinner prepared with traditional Vietnamese cuisine.

Day 2: Golfing in King’s Island Golf Course

This is the oldest golf course in Hanoi. They have just added 18 new holes, the Mountain View course. Kings Island have two 18 hole courses, the original Lakeside Course opened in 1993, now joined by The Mountain View Course. Kings’ Island will be the first 36 hole facility in northern Vietnam, including an air-conditioned clubhouse & restaurant, a driving range, pro-shop, putting greens and sand bunker.

Lakeside Course was designed by Robert McFarland, and  Mountain View, was designed by Peter Rogers.

Day 3: Hanoi City Tour

Starting from your hotel, we drive to the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s First University,  and learn about the Confucius religion. Continuing on, we visit the Quan Thanh Temple, well known for its bronze statue of Tran Vu.      One of Hanoi’s highlights that you should not miss while touring the city are the museums. You have the chance to discover the Ethnology Museum, which presents an insight into the colorful ethnic minority groups in Vietnam. The Old Quarter of Hanoi, referred to as the ancient 36 streets and districts whose streets represented professional guilds of the ancient Vietnam Capital that we can still find nowadays. We pass many French influences including Hanoi Opera House, the State Bank and the former Governor’s palace. You journey around beautiful Hoan Kiem Lake, Ngoc Son Temple and discover the Hanoi Cathedral built in late 19th century. Finally, we wander the lively old streets filled with traditional crafts, before we return to the hotel.

Day 4: Golfing in Che Linh Gold Star Golf Course

This golf course in the Northern Province of Vietnam, is of Championship quality and hosted the Carlsberg Masters in 2004 and the Vietnam Johnnie Walker Classis series 2005. 18 holes opened July 2004, and another 18 holes under construction. The course has fabulous scenery and environment, set on 328 hectares and surrounded by pine trees.

It was designed by Independent Golf Course Service (IGCS) from Australia. The number of holes is 18, and the course is 2,736 metres long, with a par of 72. It is  located 68 Km from Hanoi.

Facilities: Full amenities, including a space-age clubhouse, a restaurant serving Asian, Japanese, Korea, and European food,s and a great views from the decks of the Club House.

Day 5: Hanoi – Halong Bay on Cruise

After breakfast, we transfer to Halong Bay and board our deluxe Junk at noon and cruise through the middle of beautiful Halong Bay- a World Nature Heritage Listed place, while enjoying a seafood lunch served on board. Visit one of the most impressive grottoes and have a swim at a deserted beach. A kayak is available on request, and the junk shelters in a cove, where you spend the night.

Day 6: Halong – Hanoi

The  junk resumes its cruise the next day, while breakfast is being served. If the weather conditions permit, board a  small rowboat and  venture through flooded caves leading to the heart of one of the islands. Enjoy your last meal while the junk cruises slowly back to the pier, where you will be met and transferred back to Hanoi.

Day 7: Golfing in Hanoi Golf Club

Hanoi golf Club is a very stylish 18 holes golf course in Hanoi City, it take 40 minutes from the centre of Hanoi.  The course was opened on 27th Nov 2006. The goal of the Hanoi Golf Club is to promote the mutual friendship of its members, to promote the game of golf and to contribute to the development of Vietnam through this wonderful game.

Day 8: Hanoi Handicraft village

In the morning we venture to Bat Trang village, famous for its production of ceramics, and become acquainted with the century old methods of this art. Continuing on, we drive to the beautiful But Thap Pagoda, constructed during the 17th century and see the famous pagoda’s collection of over fifty Buddhist statues. Finally, you arrive Dong Ky village, well known for the communal production of woodcarving made by regional artists, whose profession has been handed down from generation to generation.

Day 9: Shopping tour half day – Departure

Shopping in Hanoi’s Old Quarter and Dong Xuan Market. Then free at leisure time, until the airport transfer for your onward flight.

    As golfing enthusiasts we decided to add the tour to our itinerary in the north as it covered a city tour of Hanoi, a Halong Bay cruise and some handicraft villages as well as a golfing experience. Arrangements were made on the internet and by phone to Lilly at HTS Tour before we left home, and we found the company honoured everything they arranged. By the way it was much cheaper to organise in Vietnam than with a travel agent at home.
