HTS Tour Hoa Lu -Tam Coc 1 day trip

Hoa Lu and Tam Coc are the two most favorite sightseeing places of Ninh Binh. Hoa Lu once was the capital of the country in Dinh Dynasty (968-1009); and Tam Coc (the Three Caves) are of the most beautiful caves in the region. Besides visiting these places, you can also enjoy some other enchanting places like the Trang An eco-tourism area, Kenh Ga hot springs, Cuc Phuong National park, or Bai Dinh – the biggest pagoda of the country, and S E Asia, in the Ninh Binh Province

Transfer to Ninh Binh province – 100 Km south of Hanoi – known to travelers as  “Inland Halong Bay” because its landscape mirrors that of Halong Bay. You will be offered a leisurely sampan cruise on a stream across three vast stretches of rice field. Upon arrival, visit Temples of the Dinh King and Le King built on the site of the Hoa Lu Ancient Citadel. Then visit the sacred Tam Coc caves on a bamboo boat rowed by locals and enjoy a little cycling during your trip.

Includes: Air-conditioned bus, entrance fees, lunch, boat trip and English speaking guide.
Excludes: Drinks, personal expenses, tips & gratuities.

8.30: We pick you up at your hotel and depart for Hoa Lu – Tam Coc, enjoying the beautiful scenery of the rural areas on the way.

10.30: After arriving in Ninh Binh province, the guide takes you to visit Hoa Lu – the Ancient Royal capital of Viet Nam. We will visit the Dinh King Temple and Le King Temple.   Find out about their rein in the 10th century, finding out the heroic histories of these two Kings in the Chinese Wars. Then we go on to Tam Coc (10 km away from Hoa Lu), and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch you will get on a bamboo boat – rowed by local people – in the Hoang Long river and visit Tam Coc (three caves) along the way. You pass through three enormous caves that provide a brief respite from the summer sun. It takes approximately two hours to go up and down the river and along the way, you witness local fisherfolk, village life along the river and, of course, the striking limestone karst formations that Tam Coc is famous for.

If you like to go biking, you will have a chance to visit real villages and amazing landscapes by cycling about one hour (from the Restaurant).
16.00: We take the car and return to Ha Noi.

  1. Michael Cenac says:

This was a really nice day trip out to Hoa Lu – Tam Coc, where we walked through the ruins of the ancient capital. Then on to Tam Coc where we had a nice, but basic buffet lunch. Then on to the boats and down the stream. The boat ride was really nice and the people paddling you were friendly. They do try selling you things while your on their boat, but are not pushy. They are very appreciative of tips. We then had a guided bike ride out to a small pagoda which was excellent.
Our guide was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and always had a smile on his face.
This is an excellent day trip for anyone. Great way to meet people and see the more laid back traditional side of Vietnam.
