Day 1 Hanoi / Perfume Pagoda / Yen Mo

The Perfume Pagoda holds big religious significance for the local people, being considered one of the most sacred of all sites in Vietnam. Departing from Hanoi in an a/c car with a guide, we travel through diverse countryside. We descend to Duc pier for a local upstream boat ride along the stream of Yen, which winds its way through dramatic limestone karsts and lush farmlands.

Followed by a cable car journey up to the Perfume Pagoda, hidden in a cave and surrounded by stunning forests and towering mountains, The sacred Perfume Pagoda lies on top of the Huong Son mountain range, and is famous for its spectacular views over the whole area.

We continue soaking up more breathtaking scenery as we hike to our waiting boat. Then we move on to the small village of Yen Mo, a traditional village in the Red River delta and our base for some demonstrations of the local gastronomic delights.

We settle in with a local family to experience their way of life, having an opportunity to learn about the local cuisine, (dishes such as fresh rice noodles and spring rolls). The night is spent in a local family home-stay. (Lunch and dinner are included).

Day 2 Yen Mo / Cuc Phuong / Mai Hich

This morning we take a stroll through farm land and around the village of Yen Mo before we head into Cuc Phuong National Park, where we visit the Endangered Primate Rescue Centre to see the conservation efforts being made to save the endangered Langur.

Our final stop is beautiful Mai Hich, a scenic valley in Mai Chau and home to a White Thai community. There is free time for some personal exploration of its nearby villages. Tonight we are the guests in a local White Thai family, enjoying the warm hospitality at dinner and an overnight stay in their traditional wooden stilt-house. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included).

Day 3 Mai Hich / Hanoi

Mai Hich’s laidback life and scenic surroundings of rolling hills and towering mountains, sculptured rice terraces and friendly villages complete the morning of our tour, we leave our hosts and navigate through lush farmlands and past White Thai communities.

We will meet the local people going about their daily routines, then finally we drive back to Hanoi through the mountains, arriving there at around 5pm, when your tour ends. (Breakfast and lunch are included).

Our Perfume Pagoda – Cuc Phuong – Mai Chau Trekking 3 day tour with HTS tour was an insight into real life of Vietnamese locals. I set off on time in an air con car with a guide and after travelling through the countryside stopped, took a boat and arrived at the pier and took a boat to of the Perfume Pagoda site. A cable car took me to the summit and my guide explained the relevance of the Pagoda to the Vietnamese. Returning to our vehicle, we then drove to our home-stay house and tried the delicious local cuisine. After a comfortable night I walked around a bit then headed for Cuc Phuong N Park, and I witnessed the beauty of the grounds there and what the Viets are doing at the Rescue Centre, after which I went to Mai Chau and met my host family, had a look around the village and surrounds then joined my hosts for dinner. In the morning I took some photos of the beautiful setting, mountains and people then came back to Hanoi stopping on the way. I had a great journey, and thanks to driver and guide who were always pointing things out and explaining meanings to me, i had a really good time.

Took the 3day tour with HTS Tour and firstly discovered the sacred Perfume Pagoda, and was blown away. We approached the site on a sampan after a 30 minute ride, and caught the cable-car to the top of the mountain. The view on the way up was spectacular looking down from the cable-car and at the top we joined the people and visited the main Pagoda, in a cave. We decided to descend by the paths and visit other temples on the holy mountain. We took the same sampan back to the pier and our car took us to Yen Mo where we spent the night in a home-stay situation with local hosts. In the morning after meandering around the village we drove to Cuc Phuong National Park and visited the Primate Rescue Centre to see the conservation efforts of the workers there. Then we went to Mai Hich in the scenic Mai Chau valley, where we looked around and met our hosts for the night. We spent the night in their stilt house and they provided a local meal. In the morning we bid our hosts goodbye then took a final look around before we set off back to Hanoi, very satisfied that our trip had lived up to our expectations.
