With only 12 days holidays owing and my friends description of their time in Vietnam I decided to take the plunge and booked a deluxe 8 day tour with HTS tours (recommended by friend). I landed in Hanoi, was met, booked into my hotel and my tour began immediately. After a quick look at my surrounds I watched an entertaining water-puppet show and ate in a lovely restaurant. The following day i had a guided tour of the sites of Hanoi with Mr David, and then proceeded to Halong city. Next was a wonderful cruise on Halong Bay, before flying south to Da Nang and visiting the ancient port of Hoi An and before moving on to Hue. From Hue I flew to HCM City, saw the main sites and the following day went to the Mekong Delta, a very productive region of the country. The following day I flew out of Vietnam satisfied that my 8 days there was very educational and time well spent.. Everywhere I travelled I met happy and friendly people, the guides and drivers provided were brilliant, and I came away hoping that Vietnam fulfils its potential as a very good place to spend several weeks for a more complete look.
